Overview

Astaper is a brand name for a dietary supplement containing 10 mg of astaxanthin, a natural lipid-soluble keto-carotenoid. It is manufactured by the Zyest Technology Tarawat Zendig institute in Iran and has been investigated in clinical trials led by the Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. Astaxanthin acts as a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent by modulating the Nrf2 axis and reducing endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and inflammatory pathways. The supplement is being studied for its potential to improve clinical symptoms, cardio-metabolic profiles, insulin sensitivity, lipid profiles, and depression in women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).
