Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Astegolimab is a monoclonal antibody developed for the treatment of severe asthma and is under investigation for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It acts by targeting the ST2 receptor (also known as IL1RL1), thereby interfering with downstream signaling pathways involved in inflammation. Astegolimab is administered via subcutaneous injection, typically every two or four weeks, and has been studied in both asthma and COPD populations, including those with frequent exacerbations. The drug remains investigational and has not yet received regulatory approval[1][2][3][4][5][6][7].
