Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Astragalus prescription granules are a standardized modern Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation derived from the dried roots of *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi). These granules are produced through standardized extraction, concentration, and spray-drying processes to ensure consistent levels of bioactive constituents, including astragalosides (such as astragaloside IV), polysaccharides, and flavonoids. In TCM, Astragalus is classified as having a "warm" property and is primarily used to tonify "Qi," strengthen the immune system, and promote metabolic health. Clinical research, including trials conducted by Dongzhimen Hospital and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, has investigated the effects of these granules on the regulation of gut microbiota, bowel habits, sleep, and blood proteomics in healthy individuals. The formulation is designed to provide the therapeutic benefits of traditional decoctions in a more convenient and standardized dosage form.
