Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Astuprotimut-R is a recombinant therapeutic cancer vaccine designed to stimulate the immune system against tumor cells expressing the melanoma antigen A3 (MAGE-A3). It consists of a recombinant form of human melanoma antigen A3 combined with a proprietary adjuvant, aiming to induce an immune response that targets and destroys cancer cells. The drug was developed for use in various cancers, including non-small cell lung cancer, malignant melanoma, bladder cancer, and multiple myeloma. Its mechanism involves immunostimulation and modulation of the tumor-associated antigen MAGE-A3. Astuprotimut-R was originally developed by GlaxoSmithKline in collaboration with Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research[1][2][5].
