Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Asuptegravir (also known as ACC017 or AK-183) is an investigational, once-daily, next-generation HIV-1 integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI) developed by Jiangsu Aidea Pharmaceutical. It is designed to block the integration of viral DNA into the host genome by chelating divalent metal ions within the integrase catalytic site. Asuptegravir has demonstrated potent antiviral activity against wild-type HIV-1 as well as a panel of drug-resistant strains in preclinical and early clinical studies. It is being evaluated both as a monotherapy and as part of a triple fixed-dose combination (FDC) tablet (ADC118) containing asuptegravir, emtricitabine, and tenofovir alafenamide (FTC/TAF) for the treatment of HIV-1 infection.
