Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aswagandharista + brahmi vati is a combination of two traditional Ayurvedic herbal formulations that have been evaluated for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). Brahmi vati is a tablet-based preparation primarily containing Bacopa monnieri (Brahmi), while Aswagandharista is a fermented liquid preparation containing Withania somnifera (Ashwagandha). In a randomized controlled trial, the combination demonstrated clinical efficacy comparable to the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) escitalopram, showing significant improvements in depression and anxiety scales with a superior quality-of-life profile and no observed side effects. These preparations are manufactured according to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards at the KLE Ayurveda Pharmacy in India.
