Overview

aSyn mAb (CNS-shuttled) is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody being developed by Manifold Bio, in collaboration with Roche, for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and other rare synucleinopathies. The therapeutic is engineered using Manifold Bio's protein design platform to incorporate a blood-brain barrier (BBB) shuttle, which is intended to enhance the delivery of the antibody into the central nervous system. Once in the brain, the antibody is designed to bind to alpha-synuclein (aSyn), a protein that forms toxic aggregates in the brains of patients with Parkinson's disease, thereby facilitating its clearance or neutralization.
