Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AT-003 is a small-molecule modulator of CLEC16A (C-type lectin domain family 16, member A) being developed by Arctic Therapeutics. CLEC16A acts as a master regulator of mitophagy and autophagy, processes responsible for the removal and regeneration of damaged mitochondria and cells. Dysregulation of CLEC16A leads to the accumulation of impaired cellular components, which triggers inflammatory responses and immune system dysfunction. AT-003 is designed to counteract these effects and is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of various autoimmune and neurodegenerative diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes, and Parkinson's disease.
