Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AT-1119 is an investigational nanoparticle-based therapy being developed by Ahead Therapeutics for the treatment of Type 1 Diabetes. The drug utilizes a proprietary platform for in vivo immune reprogramming, employing tolerogenic nanoparticles to induce antigen-specific immune tolerance. By mimicking the natural process of apoptotic cell clearance, these nanoparticles are designed to stop the autoimmune attack on insulin-producing pancreatic beta cells without causing systemic immunosuppression. The therapy aims to provide a disease-modifying approach by specifically targeting the underlying immune dysfunction responsible for the destruction of the pancreas's endocrine function.
