AT-1232 is an investigational nanoparticle-based therapy developed by Ahead Therapeutics for the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis. The candidate utilizes a proprietary platform designed for the *in vivo* reprogramming of the immune system through the use of tolerogenic nanoparticles. These nanoparticles are engineered to deliver specific autoantigens to antigen-presenting cells in a non-inflammatory context, mimicking the natural process of apoptotic cell clearance. This mechanism is intended to induce antigen-specific immune tolerance by promoting the expansion of regulatory T cells (Tregs), thereby halting the autoimmune response against the central nervous system without causing systemic immunosuppression. As of early 2024, the program is in the preclinical stage of development.
