AT-1608 is a tolerogenic nanoparticle-based therapy being developed by Ahead Therapeutics for the treatment of Myasthenia Gravis. The platform utilizes phospholipid liposomes to encapsulate specific antigen peptides, designed to induce antigen-specific immune tolerance through a biomimetic process that mimics the natural clearance of apoptotic cells. This 'in vivo immune reprogramming' approach aims to interrupt the autoimmune reaction against the neuromuscular junction without the need for broad immunosuppression. Ahead Therapeutics has partnered with Recipharm for the GLP manufacturing of these lipid nanoparticles. The therapy is intended for parenteral administration and is currently in early clinical development.
