Overview

AT-202 is a potent and selective nociceptin opioid peptide (NOP) receptor agonist initially developed by Adept Biopharmaceutical and Technology, Ltd. The compound was investigated for its potential therapeutic effects in alcohol use disorders, specifically targeting binge drinking behavior. Preclinical studies evaluated AT-202 at doses of 0.3, 1, and 3 mg/kg. However, research findings indicated that AT-202 did not affect binge alcohol drinking at doses that do not affect locomotor activity, even when administered to mice previously exposed to chronic alcohol treatment. The drug is currently in the Discovery stage of development for neoplasms (cancer).
