Overview

AT673 is a first-in-class, once-weekly injectable peptide antagonist of the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor, developed by Antag Therapeutics. While many metabolic therapies utilize GIP receptor agonism, AT673 is based on the premise that blocking GIP signaling can inhibit fat deposition and promote weight loss. The drug is currently in Phase 2 development, where it is being studied in combination with the GLP-1 receptor agonist semaglutide to evaluate its potential for providing additive efficacy in weight reduction and glycemic control for patients with type 2 diabetes and obesity.
