Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Atazanavir + cobicistat** is an oral fixed-dose antiretroviral combination marketed as **Evotaz**. It contains atazanavir, an HIV-1 protease inhibitor that prevents proteolytic processing of viral Gag and Gag-Pol polyproteins and thereby blocks production of mature infectious virions, plus cobicistat, a CYP3A inhibitor used as a pharmacokinetic enhancer to raise and maintain atazanavir exposure. It is used with other antiretroviral medicines for treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults and eligible pediatric patients weighing at least 35 kg.
