ATCell (also stylized as ATCELL™) is an autologous, adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy developed by American CryoStem Corporation for the treatment of Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS). The therapy involves the extraction of a patient's own adipose tissue, followed by the expansion of mesenchymal stem cells using the proprietary CryoStem Platform. These expanded cells are then delivered via intravenous infusion. ATCell is designed to address the complex central nervous system symptoms associated with PCS and Chronic Concussive Syndrome (CCS) by modulating the immune response and promoting tissue regeneration. In 2020, the FDA cleared an Investigational New Drug (IND) application for a Phase 1 clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of ATCell in retired military personnel and athletes who have sustained multiple concussions or mild traumatic brain injuries.
