Overview

Ate1 shRNA is a short hairpin RNA designed to silence the expression of Arginyltransferase 1 (Ate1). Ate1 is an enzyme responsible for arginylation, a post-translational modification that has been implicated in cellular stress responses and genomic stability. Research in prostate cancer models, specifically using LnCaP and PC-3 cell lines, has identified Ate1 as a potential suppressor of metastasis. Silencing Ate1 with shRNA has been shown to increase anchorage-independent growth and matrigel invasion in vitro. Furthermore, in vivo studies involving orthotopic implantation of Ate1-silenced PC-3 cells in immunocompromised mice demonstrated significantly higher levels of metastasis compared to control cells, suggesting that the loss of Ate1 promotes cancer progression and metastatic phenotypes.
