Overview
Atectura Breezhaler is a fixed-dose combination inhalation medication containing two active ingredients: indacaterol (as acetate), a long-acting beta2-adrenergic receptor agonist (LABA), and mometasone furoate, an inhaled corticosteroid. Indacaterol acts as a bronchodilator by relaxing the smooth muscles of the airways to improve airflow. Mometasone furoate reduces inflammation in the airways by suppressing inflammatory responses. The combination is used as maintenance therapy for asthma in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older whose symptoms are not adequately controlled with inhaled corticosteroids and short-acting beta2 agonists. It is administered once daily via oral inhalation using the Breezhaler device[4][6][9].
