Atengen small molecule tumor vascular targeting program

Atengen's small molecule oncology program is a novel therapeutic approach designed to treat a wide range of solid tumors in a tissue-agnostic manner. Unlike traditional anti-angiogenic therapies that primarily inhibit the formation of new blood vessels, this program targets a specific, undisclosed receptor that is exclusively expressed in the endothelial cells of tumor blood vessels and is absent in the vasculature of healthy organs. By binding to this receptor, the small molecule is intended to selectively destroy existing tumor blood vessels, leading to tumor necrosis. This 'Precision Pan-Cancer Tumor Killing' strategy aims to overcome the limitations of current vascular-targeting agents by minimizing off-target effects on normal circulation and providing a broad-spectrum treatment for most types of solid tumors.
