Overview

Atenolol + bisoprolol + metoprolol is a hypothetical combination of three selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blockers (beta blockers): atenolol, bisoprolol, and metoprolol. Each of these agents is a cardioselective beta blocker that works by antagonizing the effects of catecholamines (such as adrenaline) at the beta-1 adrenergic receptors in the heart. This results in decreased heart rate, reduced force of cardiac contraction, and lower blood pressure. These drugs are primarily used to manage cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension, angina pectoris, atrial fibrillation, and heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). While each drug is commonly used individually or sometimes in dual combinations with other antihypertensive classes (e.g., diuretics), there are no known marketed products or clinical guidelines supporting the use of all three together in a single formulation[1][2][3][4]. Such a combination would be expected to have additive effects on lowering heart rate and blood pressure but could also increase the risk for adverse events such as bradycardia or hypotension.
