Atezolizumab + bevacizumab + platinum-based chemotherapy is a combination regimen used primarily for the treatment of advanced or metastatic non-squamous non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC), and has been studied in ovarian cancer. Atezolizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), blocking its interaction with PD-1 and CD80, thereby enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. Bevacizumab is a monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), inhibiting angiogenesis required for tumor growth. Platinum-based chemotherapies, such as carboplatin or cisplatin, are DNA-damaging agents that induce apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. This combination leverages immunotherapy, antiangiogenic therapy, and cytotoxic chemotherapy to improve survival outcomes in several cancers[1][4][5].
