Overview

Atezolizumab + eribulin is an experimental drug combination being investigated for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, most notably urothelial carcinoma and metastatic triple-negative breast cancer. **Atezolizumab** is a monoclonal antibody checkpoint inhibitor targeting programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), blocking interaction with its receptor PD-1 and enabling immune-mediated antitumor effects. **Eribulin** is a synthetic analog of halichondrin B and acts as a microtubule inhibitor; it binds to the plus ends of microtubules, preventing polymerization and leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. Eribulin also has non-mitotic mechanisms, including reversal of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), inhibition of tumor invasion and metastasis, vascular remodeling, and modulation of the tumor microenvironment. The combination is designed to synergize immune-mediated therapies with cytotoxic effects and modulation of the tumor microenvironment.
