atezolizumab + pirfenidone

Atezolizumab + pirfenidone is an investigational combination therapy being studied for the treatment of advanced or recurrent non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Atezolizumab is a monoclonal antibody that acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor targeting programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), thereby enhancing the immune system's ability to recognize and destroy cancer cells. Pirfenidone is a small molecule antifibrotic agent, primarily used in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, which inhibits transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β)–mediated fibrogenesis and may modulate the tumor microenvironment.
