Overview

Atezolizumab is a monoclonal antibody targeting PD-L1, used as an immune checkpoint inhibitor to enhance anti-tumor immune responses. Quaratusugene ozeplasmid is a gene therapy delivering a plasmid encoding the tumor suppressor gene TUSC2, which is often lost or reduced in small cell lung cancer. The combination of atezolizumab and quaratusugene ozeplasmid is being investigated as maintenance therapy for extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC), with preclinical data suggesting enhanced tumor control compared to either agent alone[5][7][2]. The Acclaim-3 clinical trial evaluates this combination in patients who have not progressed after initial standard treatment with chemotherapy and atezolizumab[1][7][8].
