Atezolizumab + sorafenib is an experimental **combination regimen** involving the programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) checkpoint inhibitor **atezolizumab** and the multi-kinase inhibitor **sorafenib**. Atezolizumab is a **monoclonal antibody** that blocks PD-L1 to enhance antitumor immune response, while sorafenib is a **small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor** that blocks multiple kinases involved in tumor cell proliferation and angiogenesis, including RAF, VEGFR, and PDGFR. Both drugs were developed as targeted therapies for solid tumors including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Most clinical research compares the combination of atezolizumab + bevacizumab versus sorafenib monotherapy; there are studies of atezolizumab + other TKIs (e.g., cabozantinib), and sorafenib separately, but no strong clinical guideline endorses atezolizumab + sorafenib together as a standard regimen.
