Overview

ATG-034 is an orally bioavailable, potent, and selective small molecule inhibitor of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E), currently under development for the treatment of various solid tumors. eIF4E is a key component of the eIF4F complex and is frequently overexpressed in many cancers, where it preferentially promotes the translation of oncogenic mRNAs involved in cell proliferation, survival, and metastasis. By inhibiting eIF4E, ATG-034 aims to suppress the synthesis of these pro-tumorigenic proteins while sparing normal cellular translation. The compound was originally developed by Antengene and is being evaluated for its potential to overcome resistance to standard-of-care therapies and provide a new therapeutic option for patients with advanced malignancies.
