ATG7 RNAi refers to RNA interference-based approaches (such as small interfering RNAs or short hairpin RNAs) designed to knock down the expression of Autophagy-related protein 7 (ATG7). ATG7 is an essential E1-like activating enzyme required for the ubiquitin-like conjugation systems that drive autophagosome biogenesis and macroautophagy. In preclinical oncology research, silencing ATG7 via RNAi has been shown to inhibit protective autophagy, thereby sensitizing cancer cells (such as estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, and osteosarcoma) to chemotherapy and endocrine therapies. Additionally, ATG7 knockdown has been investigated for its role in modulating immune cell recruitment, cytokine profiles, and viral replication in infectious disease models.
