Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**ATH-1018** is a small molecule developed by Athira Pharma as a positive modulator of the hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)/MET pathway, which plays a critical role in neurogenesis, nervous system repair, and neuroprotection. It demonstrated preclinical efficacy in reducing pain behaviors, such as increased paw withdrawal threshold (PWT) and paw withdrawal latency (PWL), in rat models of diabetic neuropathic pain when administered alongside ATH-1020. The program targets peripheral neuropathy, particularly diabetic neuropathy, with plans for IND-enabling studies funded by Athira's IPO proceeds, though development has since been discontinued.[3][4][7][9]
