Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ATH03 is a vaccine developed by AFFiRiS AG targeting the cholesterol ester transfer protein (CETP). It is designed to induce an immune response against CETP, which plays a key role in lipid metabolism by transferring cholesterol esters from high-density lipoprotein (HDL) to other lipoprotein particles. By inhibiting CETP, ATH03 aims to increase HDL cholesterol levels and potentially reduce the risk of atherosclerosis. The drug has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for safety, immunogenicity, and dose response in healthy male subjects with low HDL cholesterol concentrations[1][2].
