Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Athebody DARPins for targeted radiotherapy are a class of designed ankyrin repeat proteins (DARPins) developed using the proprietary Athebody platform by Athebio. These engineered protein scaffolds are optimized as ligands to deliver radioisotopes directly to tumor cells, enabling highly specific and stable targeting in radioligand therapy. Their small size allows rapid tumor penetration and clearance from the body, while their high affinity and specificity enable precise binding to a wide range of cell surface targets not easily accessible with traditional antibodies or small molecules. The exceptional stability of these DARPins supports conjugation with both fast- and slow-decaying therapeutic isotopes (such as 212Pb, 177Lu, 225Ac), making them suitable for next-generation multi-functional therapeutics in oncology. POINT Biopharma is responsible for clinical development and commercialization under an exclusive partnership with Athebio[1][2][3][4][5].
