atherolive

Atherolive is an oral formulation of olive leaf extract, developed as a natural product for the management of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Its primary bioactive compounds include oleuropein and hydroxytyrosol, which have demonstrated antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and endothelial-protective effects. The mechanism of action is believed to involve modulation of oxidative stress pathways (notably via Nrf2), reduction in neuroinflammation (via NF-κB), improvement in endothelial function, and possible inhibition of cholinesterase activity. Atherolive has been investigated in clinical trials for its potential benefits in acute coronary syndrome, hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, endothelial dysfunction, hyperemia, and general cardiovascular risk reduction[2][3][7][8]. The drug is being developed by Université de Monastir.
