Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ATI-105 is an investigational oral nanoparticle formulation of the small molecule astaxanthin, developed by Adjuvia Therapeutics. It is currently in IND-enabling studies for the treatment of mitochondrial diseases, specifically Friedreich's Ataxia and Leigh Syndrome. As a potent antioxidant, astaxanthin localized within the mitochondria helps to neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS) and mitigate the oxidative damage characteristic of these neurodegenerative and metabolic disorders. The nanoparticle delivery system is specifically designed to enhance the oral bioavailability and cellular uptake of astaxanthin, which typically exhibits poor absorption in standard formulations.
