atibuclimab

Atibuclimab (IC14) is a recombinant chimeric monoclonal antibody that targets CD14, a receptor involved in the recognition of bacterial lipopolysaccharides and other pathogen-associated molecular patterns. By binding to and neutralizing CD14, atibuclimab prevents its interaction with both pathogen-associated and damage-associated molecular patterns, thereby inhibiting downstream pro-inflammatory cytokine cascades such as TNF-alpha, IL-6, and IL-10. This results in dampening of systemic inflammatory responses associated with conditions like sepsis. Atibuclimab has been investigated for several indications including severe sepsis, acute lung injury, SARS-CoV-2 acute respiratory disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), decompensated heart failure, myocardial infarction, arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, and acute respiratory distress syndrome. The drug was originally developed by ICOS Corporation and is currently being developed by Implicit Bioscience along with academic collaborators[1][2][3][4][5][6][7].
