ATIR101 is a cell-based immunotherapeutic product composed of donor-derived, T-lymphocyte-enriched leukocytes that have been selectively depleted of alloreactive (recipient-reactive) T cells. This depletion is achieved ex vivo using photodepletion technology with the agent TH9402, which removes activated donor T cells likely to cause graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), while preserving functional, mature immune cells capable of fighting infections and residual tumor cells. The therapy is administered as an adjunct following haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) from a partially matched family donor in patients with blood cancers such as acute leukemia. By minimizing the risk of severe GvHD without requiring posttransplant immunosuppression, ATIR101 aims to provide graft-versus-infection and graft-versus-leukemia effects, potentially improving survival outcomes after HSCT[1][3][5][6][7].
