Overview

ATL001 + nivolumab is a **combination therapy** consisting of ATL001, an autologous, personalized T cell therapy targeting clonal neoantigens, and nivolumab, a monoclonal antibody immune checkpoint inhibitor targeting PD-1. ATL001 is manufactured from a patient’s own tumor and blood samples, expanding T cells that specifically recognize clonal neoantigens, which are unique mutations present in all cancer cells of a tumor. Nivolumab blocks the PD-1 receptor on T cells, enhancing their ability to attack cancer cells. This combination is studied primarily in advanced melanoma and aims to increase antitumor immune activity by both providing tumor-targeted T cells and preventing their inhibition by the tumor microenvironment. ATL001 is developed by Achilles Therapeutics and nivolumab by Bristol Myers Squibb. The combination is being investigated in phase 1/2 trials, including the THETIS study in metastatic melanoma[1][3][5].
