ATLX-1282 is a first-in-class monoclonal antibody developed for the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other neurodegenerative conditions, including frontotemporal dementia. The drug was discovered using Alchemab Therapeutics’ proprietary platform that integrates artificial intelligence, machine learning, and lab-based science to identify naturally occurring antibodies in individuals resilient to neurodegenerative diseases. Specifically, ATLX-1282 targets UNC5C (unc-5 netrin receptor C), a protein implicated in neuroprotection across multiple neurodegenerative disorders. The candidate emerged from studies of people genetically predisposed to frontotemporal dementia who remained healthy into old age. Alchemab led preclinical development and will conduct early Phase 1 trials; Eli Lilly has licensed global rights for further clinical development and commercialization[1][3][4][5][6][7].
