Overview

**ATN-291** is an investigational monoclonal antibody directed against urokinase-type plasminogen activator, a component of the urokinase plasminogen activator system implicated in tumor invasion, metastasis, and tumor-associated stromal biology. Preclinical studies have used native ATN-291 and radiolabeled derivatives such as zirconium-89 and copper-labeled antibody fragments for immunoPET imaging of uPA-expressing tumors, including breast cancer models, supporting its role primarily as a targeted cancer imaging and potentially theranostic agent rather than an approved therapeutic. The antibody has been associated with work by investigators linked to Northwestern University and later Monopar Therapeutics programs involving ATN-291-derived fragments.
