Overview

Atoderm SOS Spray is a topical anti-itching cosmeceutical product developed by Bioderma (a brand of NAOS). It is specifically formulated to provide rapid relief from pruritus (itching) associated with atopic dermatitis and other inflammatory skin conditions. The product features a proprietary Skin Relief Technology incorporating ambora extract and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which are designed to inhibit the release of itch-inducing mediators such as Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin (TSLP) and Nerve Growth Factor (NGF). The formulation also includes enoxolone for its anti-inflammatory properties, Vitamin PP (niacinamide) and squalane to replenish skin lipids and restore the barrier, and a Skin Barrier Therapy™ Complex to prevent the adhesion of Staphylococcus aureus. It has been the subject of clinical investigation led by Prof. HON Kam Lun Ellis to evaluate its efficacy in reducing itch and improving quality of life in children with moderate-to-severe eczema.
