Overview

Atoderm SOS spray is a topical anti-itch treatment developed by Bioderma (NAOS) designed to provide rapid relief from pruritus. It utilizes "Skin Relief Technology," which is a combination of Ambora extract (*Tambourissa trichophylla*) and Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), supplemented with enoxolone (glycyrrhetinic acid). The mechanism involves inhibiting the release of key itch mediators, specifically Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin (TSLP) and Nerve Growth Factor (NGF), from keratinocytes. By reducing these mediators, the spray limits the activation of nerve fibers and the subsequent transmission of itch signals to the brain. It is primarily indicated for the management of itching in patients with atopic dermatitis (eczema) and other dry skin conditions, and it is suitable for use in both adults and children.
