Overview

DAW1033B2 is a combination drug consisting of atomoxetine (a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor) and fesoterodine (an extended-release antimuscarinic drug). It is being investigated for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The drug works by targeting the reduction in upper airway dilator muscle activity that occurs at sleep onset in OSA patients, which leads to increased collapsibility of the upper airway compared to normal subjects. By partially restoring pharyngeal muscle activity during sleep, DAW1033B2 aims to reduce OSA severity.
