Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pleopill is a cardiovascular fixed-dose combination (polypill) developed and marketed by Zinnia Life Sciences. It contains three active pharmaceutical ingredients: **atorvastatin**, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) used to lower LDL cholesterol; **aspirin**, a salicylate that acts as an antiplatelet agent by irreversibly inhibiting cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1); and **ramipril**, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used to manage hypertension and reduce the risk of heart failure. Pleopill is primarily indicated for the secondary prevention of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), such as myocardial infarction and stroke, in patients with established cardiovascular disease or multiple risk factors. The use of a polypill is intended to simplify complex medication regimens and improve long-term patient adherence.
