Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of atorvastatin (a statin), fenofibrate (a fibrate), and niacin (nicotinic acid). Each component works through different mechanisms to comprehensively manage dyslipidemia. Atorvastatin primarily reduces LDL cholesterol by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase. Fenofibrate mainly reduces triglycerides and increases HDL cholesterol by activating PPARα. Niacin has broad effects on lipid profiles, reducing LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while significantly increasing HDL cholesterol. This triple combination targets multiple aspects of dyslipidemia simultaneously.
