atorvastatin + ramipril

Altoram is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) pharmaceutical product developed by Libytec Pharmaceutical, primarily marketed in Greece. It combines two well-established cardiovascular agents: atorvastatin, a lipid-lowering HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin), and ramipril, an antihypertensive angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. This combination is designed to improve treatment adherence in patients requiring management of both hypercholesterolemia and hypertension, or for those at high risk of cardiovascular events. Atorvastatin reduces hepatic cholesterol synthesis and increases LDL receptor expression, while ramiprilat (the active metabolite of ramipril) reduces systemic vascular resistance by inhibiting the production of angiotensin II and the degradation of bradykinin.
