Drug intelligence / Profile preview
atorvastatin + vitamin C + vitamin E is a combination therapy investigated by Seoul National University Hospital for the treatment of variant angina (Prinzmetal angina). The regimen includes atorvastatin, a small molecule HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin), alongside the antioxidants Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and Vitamin E (tocopherol). This combination is designed to address both lipid-related atherosclerosis and the oxidative stress-induced endothelial dysfunction that contributes to coronary artery spasms. In a Phase 4 clinical trial, the therapy was evaluated for its ability to improve vasospasm and induce atheroma regression in target coronary vessels by mitigating oxidative stress and improving vascular endothelial function.
