Overview

ATP11B siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) molecule designed to silence the expression of the ATP11B gene, which encodes a P-type ATPase membrane protein implicated in mediating cisplatin resistance in ovarian cancer. By targeting and degrading ATP11B mRNA, ATP11B siRNA downregulates its expression, sensitizing cancer cells to platinum-based chemotherapy. Preclinical data demonstrate that ATP11B siRNA, usually delivered via nanoliposomes, restores cisplatin sensitivity in resistant ovarian tumors and reduces tumor growth in mouse models. This therapeutic concept is being explored primarily in the context of platinum-resistant ovarian cancer, but the principle of gene silencing via siRNA is applicable to other diseases where ATP11B is implicated[1][3].
