Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ATR-COSF is a preclinical-stage microbial therapy being developed by Azitra for cancer oncology support, specifically targeting skin-related adverse effects (such as skin flares or rashes) associated with cancer treatments. The drug is part of Azitra's proprietary Bio-SpE platform, which utilizes an engineered strain of *Staphylococcus epidermidis* to deliver therapeutic proteins directly to the skin microbiome. By leveraging the natural commensal properties of *S. epidermidis*, ATR-COSF aims to restore skin health and mitigate inflammation in patients undergoing systemic cancer therapies. The program is currently in the discovery and preclinical development stages.
