Atrenova

Atrenova is a small molecule proteasome inhibitor developed and marketed by Dar Al Dawa. It is a generic version of bortezomib (Velcade). Atrenova acts as a reversible inhibitor of the 26S proteasome, a multi-protein complex responsible for the degradation of ubiquitinated proteins within the cell. By blocking the proteasomal pathway, the drug disrupts protein homeostasis, leading to the accumulation of misfolded proteins and the induction of the unfolded protein response (UPR), which ultimately triggers apoptosis in malignant cells. It is approved for the treatment of multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma and is administered via intravenous or subcutaneous injection.
