Overview

Atriplex lentiformis pollen extract is a non-standardized allergenic biologic derived from the pollen of the *Atriplex lentiformis* plant, commonly known as quailbrush. Developed by ALK-Abello and distributed by Greer Laboratories, this extract is utilized for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in clinical allergy practice. For diagnosis, it is administered via percutaneous or intradermal skin testing to identify IgE-mediated sensitivity in patients with a history of seasonal allergies. For treatment, it is used in subcutaneous allergen immunotherapy (hyposensitization) to reduce allergic symptoms by modulating the immune response, specifically by inducing the production of allergen-specific IgG antibodies and reducing IgE-mediated responses to the quailbrush pollen allergens.
