Atrocoxib

Atrocoxib is an oral small molecule selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor developed and marketed by Atro Pharma. It is a generic formulation of etoricoxib, belonging to the coxib class of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The drug works by selectively inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme, which is responsible for the synthesis of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins, thereby providing analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects with a potentially lower risk of gastrointestinal side effects compared to non-selective NSAIDs. Atrocoxib is indicated for the management of pain and inflammation associated with various forms of arthritis, including osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It is available in 60 mg and 90 mg tablet strengths for oral administration.
