Overview

Atrocoxib-P is an oral fixed-dose combination tablet developed and marketed by Atro Pharma, a pharmaceutical company based in New Delhi, India. It contains etoricoxib, a highly selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor, and paracetamol (acetaminophen), an analgesic and antipyretic. The medication is indicated for the symptomatic relief of moderate pain and joint swelling associated with various inflammatory conditions, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and acute gouty arthritis. By selectively inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme, the etoricoxib component reduces the production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins while minimizing the gastrointestinal side effects typically associated with non-selective NSAIDs. Paracetamol provides complementary analgesic effects, making the combination effective for managing acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain.
