Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Atropan-D is an oral sustained-release combination capsule developed by Atro Pharma for the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. It contains 40mg of pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that reduces gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme, and 30mg of domperidone, a dopamine D2 receptor antagonist that acts as a prokinetic agent to enhance gastric emptying and provide antiemetic effects. The drug is indicated for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, gastritis, and peptic ulcers, particularly when associated with symptoms like nausea, bloating, and heartburn. It is currently approved and marketed in India.
